OK, OK – they aren’t really FREE.
But a good part of them is FREE. Here’s the deal – Restaurant.com sells gift certificates for disounted amounts. Generally, they sell $25 gift certificates for $10. As you can see from the image above, they currently have a promotion code (PLATE) that will give you 80% OFF of the $10 sale price, making the total $2. This current code is valid 7/23 through 7/31. They nearly always have some sort of discount code offering 50-80% OFF.
So you end up getting a $25 Gift Certificate for JUST $2! In other words they are basically giving you a FREE Gift Certificate for $23 when you give them $2! That’s a 1250% return on your investment. How can you go wrong?
I am fortunate that there are several resturants nearby that routinely participate in Restaurant.com.
Be sure to read the fine print as many of the restaurants have very specific requirements (e.g. $35 food purchase required, not valid on weekends, or with other discounts, 18% gratuity added before discount, not valid with alcohol, etc.).
